About Phalanx K9 Modular Dog Training
Welcome to Phalanx K9 Modular Dog Training, where dedication, expertise, and a passion for canine excellence come together. Our founder Kenny Wallace, an army veteran and law enforcement Officer, has a profound appreciation for the critical role that dogs have in our lives. This appreciation was born out of firsthand experience from working in law enforcement and a deep, personal bond with his German Shepherd dogs, Axle and Katiana.
After Katiana and then Axle's unexpected passing, coupled with Katiana's dominant aggression and Axle's fear and territorial aggression, inspired our founder to embark on a journey to ensure no dog under his care would ever be out of control or mistreated from a lack of training again. Consulting with professional dog behaviorist and trainer Josh Jacobson of Fearless K9, he learned a crucial lesson from Josh: the importance of balance in a dog's temperament. This led him to Wrecker, a Malinois puppy that had those exact characteristics and a commitment to joshes teachings.
With dedication, our founder participated in obedience classes, often after grueling double night shifts and commitments to training at home. His relentless effort and the mentorship of Josh paid off, as he and Wrecker excelled in both obedience and protection training. This journey ignited a passion for training that led him to a mentor of Josh, Mike D'Abruzzo of K9-1, whose Foundation style dog training and LIMA (Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive) guidelines shaped the humane and effective training methods we use today.
After leaving his full-time law enforcement position due to political and agency issues, our founder became a part-time law enforcement officer and dog control officer in his hometown, on top of becoming a new dad to a beautiful daughter. This shift allowed him to dedicate himself fully to his true calling—training dogs.

Foundation Style Dog Training
Foundation Style Dog Training relies heavily on understanding "foundation" information or adhering to "foundation" principals to be successful and humane at more advanced levels of training. Using the FDST pyramid we can approach any dog in any situation with the appropriate training plan.
This Training includes four key categories:
- Behavioral/Genetic Management
- Obedience Training (Phase 1-4)
- Aggression Control
- Personal Protection Training
We also offer specialized categories such as service dog training, police K9 and military working dog training, and behavioral and training consultations. Assisting service dogs or K9 teams in resolving specific behavioral or training issues.
